A very beautiful area, Zell am See is popular year round not only for its skiing and glacier skiing (Kaprun) but also for it lake, Zeller See, in the summer.
Saalbach-Hinterglemm is about 20 minutes drive from Zell am See and is a brilliant ski area, known as the Ski Circus.
The beautiful village of Maria Alm is also nearby, which links with Hintermoos and near to Hinterthal, which links into the excellent Muhlbach-Dienten ski area. Maria Alm is very close to the town of Saalfelden, renowned for its golf course.
